About Us

About Maryland Divorce Mediators:

Maryland Divorce Mediators was founded in 2017 by E. Jacob Wolf, a Baltimore area attorney, mediator, and business professional. After working through law school for a local divorce attorney, Mr. Wolf opened his own law practice and built a reputation as a fair and tough divorce attorney. He became discouraged because divorce attorneys are incentivized to ‘fight’ — the more couples fight, the more the lawyers earn in fees. He knew there must be a better, cheaper way for couples to navigate the divorce process.

As a certified mediator, Mr. Wolf began focusing his divorce practice on ‘Collaborative Divorce Law’ – a concept where couples utilize mediation professionals to problem solve, rather than fight in court. Mr. Wolf started Maryland Divorce Mediators, which prides itself on crafting fair and equitable compromises utilizing certified attorney mediators.

Maryland Divorce Mediators has a simple mission:  When couples “agree to disagree” they can save thousands on attorney fees they would otherwise pay to their divorce lawyer in litigation. When couples “agree to disagree” they can build a better relationship for their
children’s benefit. And when couples “agree to disagree” they can enjoy the peace of mind by controlling their own outcome and avoiding a messy, public, in-court divorce.

Maryland Divorce Mediators utilizes our qualified attorneys and Maryland certified mediators across the state to assist in a divorce resolution process that best utilizes your time as well as the attorney mediator’s time. Whether you need help resolving serious disputes including child custody, alimony, child support, dividing retirement assets or your marital home; or you have already reached an agreement and need an attorney to assist in drafting a comprehensive separation or divorce settlement agreement, our attorney mediators are here to help.

Our pricing and time estimates are transparent and up-front. If you and your spouse have already reached an agreement, we offer a Managed Mutual Consent Package to assist couples in navigating Maryland’s expedited Mutual Consent Divorce.

What our clients are saying...

Thank you for helping us prepare for our divorce. You made it a smooth and easy process. We couldn’t thank you enough for being so helpful and answering our questions. We had our court date yesterday and like you said it only took about 15 minutes.

Carroll County Client

“My husband and I got married later in life (both second marriages) and it just didn’t work out. We decided to use a mediator and it was a very good process. My first divorce years ago was very expensive and took a long time but I’m glad we found this mediator.”

- S. B.

“I called an attorney and he wanted a $5,000 retainer. I’m so glad I called you.”

- Baltimore County client

“Spending thousands of dollars on lawyers was not what we wanted to do at all…but we also felt like we had to use legal language in case it got messy in the future. Jacob walked us through the process and helped us draft the separation agreement. Was an increasingly easy process.”

- D. G.
